Monofilament leader is best for rigging. Weights, 150lb gets more bites. Leaders come in a range of sizes: most used 200lb, 300lb, all the way up to 400lb, 600lb for big blue and black marlin lures. Ensure you have the correct length leader for 24kg and 37kg main line: 9.14m is as long a leader as you can use to be "legal" (excluding a double main line length, which can be 3.05m max, if you are concerned about being IGFA legal for records, of if you are fishing tournaments or competitions). The little bits are important. Crimp are dime a dozen, but spend two dimes and get quality Japanese- or Korean-made crimps because they have better corrosion resistance and better forming when crimped. Double barrel crimps are best, as they separate the line when pressed. Copper or aluminium is fine. Press crimps about 2mm back from either end, so you flare the ends of the crimp for better abrasion reduction. A kanseki spring, by Kizai Japan, around the hook and other end connection will provide the prefect chaff protection. At the non-hook end use either a ring and grommet connection with a kanseki spring, or a quality swivel for easy lure changes. While you're there, take to your hooks with a diamond stone or fine file. Not just the point, but the keel of the barb as well – it will help penetration.
